Happy Monday, bloggers!  I'm in the middle of packing right now.  I'll be headed up to Alabama for the next few days. Before I head out of town, I thought I would share some photos.  Some days, it feels like Christmas when I check our mail box.

First up, I have to share a photo of the gift I got for Mother's Day...yes, I know I'm a couple of weeks late but I've been busy.  Besides, I was stuck between getting the Kindle or the Nook for the past few months. After playing around with the Kindle, I'm glad I went this route. I look at computer screens way too much, I'm sure the Nook would have just frustrated me.

I got my order from sephora.com today. Thankfully, I found the box at the back door before all my brand new makeup melted.  This is the first time I've splurged on makeup, normally I just go with the convenience store brands.

The next two photos are from the care package that I received from my mom. She's been living in Japan the past four years.  I love the japanese culture and I'm always so excited to receive a package from her...it's like Christmas all over again! Here are just a few things that were in the box.

On August 31, 1949, Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson announced the creation of an Armed Forces Day to replace sepearate Army, Navy and Air Force Days.  The single-day celebration stemmed from the unification of the Armed Forces under one department --- the Department of Defense.

last day of Pre-K and a page...

Look out world!  The photo above from Tahlia and Isaiah's last drop-off for Pre-K, which was yesterday.  These two little hellions will be starting Kindergarden in August.  What's with me having to swallow a jagged little pill every time one of our kids reach a milestone?  The pills are getting harder to digest, especially when they come and go.  I don't want them to grow up!  Okay, really I do...but that's besides the point!  lol.

What do you think of the photo?  Isaiah often asks if he can take a picture when he sees me snapping away.  I think I have a little photog in the making.  He just needs to learn not to cut off people's heads.  He took this with my HTC EVO, so I am impressed.

I created another page using this month's "Now and Zen" kit from Scraps of Darkness.  What I love most about this kit, is the beautiful foiled papers from Christine Adolph's 'Sakura' collection.

I am still loving the Donna Salazar's Smooch Spritz from Clear Snap.  I sprayed 'River Mossy' on both the alphabets and the swan from Dusty Attic.

Oohh, I love that gunmetal effect, don't you?  These are my new favorite spritzs! If you don't have them, you need them!  I ordered mine from sb.com a few weeks ago.

one proud mama moment and a winner

Today was the last day of school for Jayda.  It is still hard to wrap my head around the fact that she will be moving on to the 5th grade next year!

Jayda has really blossomed into a student athlete.  She won several awards during their student recognition ceremony. 

Not only did she finish the school year on the A/B Honor Roll...

She was also recognized for running the most laps (156) during the school year and as the fastest runner in her school!  That's right peeps, my little girl outran the boys and left them in her dust.  Her fastest mile time was 7:26!

I am one proud mama!!!
