It's been a while since I've talked about my Blythe doll collection.  I just got a new custom girl, so here are some photos of her.

I swapped out her body, a couple of her eyechips, gave her black ribbon pulls and these adorable charms that I found on Etsy.

Egads, my hands are sooo dry! Lotion, puh-leeze!  Anyways, I adore Landen and I'm seriously thinking about listing the rest of my girls on the bay.  I even got the nod of approval from our oldest daughter.

National Scrapbooking Day is this weekend and unfortunately I will be working but I will be sharing some craft projects over the weekend (gotta love "publish on" feature).  Before I sign off, a few of you asked if I have any designs for daughters of service member...the pendants below will be going to Etsy sometime over the weekend.  I plan on making bottlecap versions of the "My _ _ _, is my Hero" design.

Just wanted to wish all our friends out there a very Happy Easter!

just sharing my other hobby and a quick toot

A few months ago, I picked up another hobby.  I know what you're thinking...I barely have enough time to keep up with the hobbies I have now, with my family and the career thang, but I digress.  I started collecting Blythe dolls.  What started with one innocent doll turned into a ridiculous obsession, or addiction, if you will and I now have close to 10 of the blasted things in my craft room.  It wasn't too long after I started collecting, that I started customizing them.

Pumpkin is a Simply Mango that I adopted. I can't remember who her original owner was.  Anyways, her custom process was pretty simple just sandmatted, applied chalk pastels, and sealed her.

Mischa was originally a Frosty Frock bait girl that I adopted from Chasity.  This is actually her 3rd look. She's pretty much my experimental blythe, anytime I want to try a new technique or look...she's the guniea pig.  (Kinda reminds me of when I was a kid and one of my cousins, going through beauty school  at the time, tried all kinds of cuts, colors, and perms on my hair)  Anyways, I did some major carving on Mischa. I like the look like she has now...which is good because there's NO going back once you carve plastic.

So there you have it.  That's what I've been up to the past few months.  The career thang has been keeping me pretty busy the past few months, but that's finally calmed down for a few weeks at least.  I'm taking classes again, so I can finally knock out my degrees.  You know me...constantly on the go.

Finally, I was asked back to design for Scrap That Moment.  Lynette will be having the grand opening of her brick & mortar store, located in IL, the next few weeks so stay tuned.

the simple things

For the twins 4th birthday in July, we treated them to a shopping spree at Build-A-Bear.  Fast forward 3 months, the twins received a care package from one of their nanas.  To our surprise, one of the shirts matched the top T picked out for her bear.  Now she's wearing the shirt every day and refuses to take it off...even when I say it needs to be washed.

I guess I can't be too hard on her, earlier this week I found a dollhouse on Craigslist for a mere $25.00.  My husband was clowning me the majority of the day because I was gushing with pride over my find.  What can I say, one little girl's trash is another big girl's treasure.  lol.

It's a work-in-progress, J and I are using some of our favorite patterned paper to make it seem more modern and we're slowly moving the barbie/handmade furniture in.

The moral of the story, the simplest things can make someone's day, whether they be young or old(er).  Just a little something to keep in mind.  Have a great week everyone!

I don't know about you all, but this summer has been crazy busy!  The last time I've posted on here was back in May.  So much has happened since then.  The twins turned four and have started Pre-K.  Also, our oldest started 4th grade on August 5th.  What happened to school starting after Labor Day?  Her summer break was only 2 months long...if even!

I haven't done much scrapping at all this summer.  I have participated in a few swaps though.  I have so much fun shopping for my partner, I think swaps are fun and a great way to new people.  Below are some sneak photos of the latest swap I'm participating in titled, Hot Mama "Alice Inspired" Apron Swap.  I'm not much of a seamstress, so I found this adorable "Alice" inspired on Etsy a few weeks ago.

And of course, I need to talk about my latest addiction...collecting dolls.  And no, these aren't your mother's dolls.  I'm talking about Blythes and Pullips.  These girls are addicting...so much so that I thought I would stop after three.  Not the case, because I have a total of nine now.
